Fans of boules can get to know the relatives of their favourite sport – pétanque and boccia – in the Free Republic of Holidays, Saas-Fee. The main difference between the games is the surface that they are played on. Pétanque, unlike boules, is played on gravel rather than short grass, whereas boccia requires an even surface. The aim of both games, as with boules, is to get your balls as close to the smaller jack as possible, knocking those of your opponents out of the way if needed. Along with golf, pétanque and boccia belong to the category of precision sports. Take your aim!
