With the SaastalCard you are stress-free and mobile in summer and autumn!
From your first overnight stay, you will receive the SaastalCard, which allows you to use cable cars (except Metro Alpin) and the Postbus in the Saas Valley free of charge during your stay (plus optional arrival or departure day)! You also benefit from up to 30% discount on numerous activities.
Cable cars included
During your stay - and optionally on the day of arrival or departure - you can use cable cars free of charge (excl. Metro Alpin).
Example:
1 night = 1 day cable cars included
3 nights = 3 days cable cars included
Dogs are not included and pay a quarter of the adult rate from a height of 30 cm.
The SaastalCard is valid on the mountain railways for pedestrians until 30 november.

Metro Plus Ticket
The SaastalCard or Magic Pass entitles you to purchase the Metro Plus ticket (pedestrian ticket Felskinn - Mittelallalin). If you have the SaastalCard, you can use the Metro Alpin for CHF 45.- (children 6-16 years CHF 38.-) during your stay.
If you have a Magic Pass but no SaastalCard, you can use the Metro Plus Ticket only once for the same price.
The Metro Plus ticket includes admission to the Ice Cave Allalin.
For guests holding the SaastalCard AND Magic Pass, the Saastal Bergbahnen offers a reduction on the Metro Plus ticket of CHF 5 for adults and CHF 3 for children. For the drop, you must show both cards at the ticket office.

The SaastalCard (guest card) is available at most accommodations in the Saas Valley against payment of the visitor's tax. With this card, you can use cable cars (excl. Metro Alpin) in summer and autumn and the post bus all year round in the vacation region for free. In addition, you benefit from numerous discounts on activities and in the parking garage in Saas-Fee.
You will receive the SaastalCard in digital form by e-mail from your first overnight stay in one of the partner establishments. If you wish, you or the landlord can also print out the SaastalCard.

This is not available for purchase. You pay the visitor's tax (CHF 7.-/night for adults and CHF 3.50/night for children 6 - 15.9 years) and receive the SaastalCard. This is our value-added guest card.
Most landlords offer a SaastalCard. This is a visitor’s card with more benefits.
Before arrival, please ask your landlord if he offers SaastalCard (there might be an extra charge of max. CHF 3.80 per night, extra costs must be mentioned in the rental agreement).
Our partner organisations (marked holiday homes/hotels) will offer you a SaastalCard.
At Saastal Bergbahnen (in Saas-Fee and Saas-Almagell) the Magic Pass is now valid in summer, but not at Hohsaas Bergbahnen (in Saas-Grund). The use of the Metro Alpin and the summer ski area are not included in the Magic Pass.

Yes, the SaastalCard will remain in place. Overnight guests of our partner establishments will continue to enjoy numerous inclusive services with the SaastalCard. These include, for example, unlimited use of the 9 cable cars in the Saas Valley, with the exception of the Metro Alpin. All PostBus journeys in the Saas Valley are also included (not valid for arrival and departure by PostBus) and reductions of up to 30 percent on a total of 36 local and regional offers.
No. The Magic Pass and the SaastalCard are two different products with different benefits.
- The Magic Pass includes:
- free use of the cable cars in over 30 destinations in winter.
- free use of the cable cars in over 16 destinations in summer.
- The SaastalCard includes:
- free use of 9 cable cars in the Saas Valley (including Saas-Grund, which are not part of the Magic Pass network).
- free use of the PostAuto within the four municipalities of the Saas Valley.
- reductions of up to 30 percent on 36 local and regional offers.
- payment of the included visitor's tax (financing of the tourist infrastructure, guest information and entertainment).
There is a partial overlap of benefits. For guests affected by this, Saastal Bergbahnen offers a reduction on the Metro Plus ticket of CHF 5.- for adults and CHF 3.- for children. For the reduction, both tickets must be presented at the ticket office.
Important: When purchasing a Metro Plus ticket (pedestrian ticket Felskinn - Mittelallalin), you pay a one-off charge of CHF 45.- (children CHF 38.-) with the SaastalCard, or CHF 40.- (children CHF 35.-) with the SaastalCard and Magic Pass, and can then go up to the Mittelallalin as often as you like for the entire duration of your stay and visit the ice cave Allalin free of charge. Use of the ski area is not included. The Metro Plus Ticket can only be purchased with a valid SaastalCard or Magic Pass.
