Saas Museum

Travel back in time while exploring the four floors of the Saas museum, and discover the history of the Free Republic of Holidays, Saas-Fee. There you'll find a Saaser house from the turn of the last century, folk artefacts, beautiful traditional costumes, votive art, and – a real highlight – the study of the famous writer Carl Zuckmayer, who lived in Saas-Fee for twenty years.

Useful information

The building that now houses the Saas Museum is a former vicarage which was built in 1732. In 1855 an extra floor was added. In 1983 this typical old Saas house was opened as a museum on the initiative of the local historian Werner Imseng.
