Ski resort test report 2017/2018

The Saas-Fee ski resort has been named a top ski resort by Skiresort.de, the world's largest test portal for ski resorts. In the 2017/2018 season, the Skiresort.de team comprehensively tested the ski resort in 18 evaluation criteria. Saas-Fee achieved a top rating of 4.0 out of 5 possible stars. Marketing Trophy 2018

The Marketing Trophy was awarded on the marketing day of the Swiss Marketing Forum on the subject of "Total customer experience" at the beginning of March 2018. In the SME category, Saastal Bergbahnen AG and Saastal Tourismus AG convinced the jury with their campaign "WinterCARD 2016/17 - The knock-out deal".

The Marketing Trophy is considered the Oscar of the marketing industry. It celebrates the most creative ideas and best marketing projects. With the WinterCARD, not only was it possible to increase overnight stays and added value in the Free Republic of Holidays Saas-Fee, but the awareness of the innovative and snow-assured destination was also increased.

Skiareatest Award

In April 2017, representatives of Saastal Bergbahnen AG received the renowned Skiareatest Award in six categories. The Saas Valley is thus honoured for its high quality standards.

A total of 39 winter destinations from five Alpine countries were tested in the winter season 2016/17. In recent years, the international Ski area test has become a fixed benchmark in the tourism industry in terms of quality, guest service and safety and annually evaluates ski resorts in the entire Alpine region. From piste preparation to the guest information system to the friendliness of the staff, various categories have been evaluated for 22 years.

Double category victory of the best ski resorts in the Alps

Every two years the company Mountain Management publishes its study "Best Ski Resort Award" and evaluates the top ski resorts in the Alps. For the 2016 study, around 49,000 winter sports enthusiasts were interviewed in 54 selected ski resorts in the Alps in Austria, Germany, France, Italy and Switzerland. The survey focused, among other things, on guest satisfaction, loyalty and recommendation.

For the third time in a row, Saas-Fee is swinging up in the snow safety category from all 54 ski resorts assessed. After the third place in the last evaluation in 2014, Saas-Fee also wins in November 2016 in the category of safety on the slopes. In the overall standings, Saas-Fee achieved 5th place and took second place throughout Switzerland.

An der 34. Preisverleihung für eine erfolgreiche Ausbildung und berufliche Eingliederung der kantonalen IV-Stelle Wallis in September 2016, wurde der Saastal Bergbahnen AG der Arbeitgeberpreis überreicht. Die Geschäftsleitung um CEO Rainer Flaig nahm den Preis in Brig entgegen.

Die Saastal Bergbahnen AG (STB) wurden für ihr langjähriges Engagement bei der Ausbildung und Eingliederung von Arbeitnehmern in den Arbeitsprozess geehrt. Über Jahre hinweg hat die STB in Zusammenarbeit mit der kantonalen IV-Stelle, Arbeitnehmern, welche aufgrund eines Unfalls oder einer Krankheit ihren angestammten Beruf nicht mehr ausüben konnten, eine neue berufliche Perspektive ermöglicht. Dabei wurde und wird den Arbeitnehmern stets ein bedürfnisgerechter Arbeitsplatz vermittelt. Sei dies im Bereich Technik (Skilifte, Bahndienst) in den Werkstätten oder in der Ticketkontrolle.Die Personalverantwortliche der STB, Daniela Lomatter, zeigte sich hocherfreut über die Auszeichnung und betonte, dass das soziale Engagement ein wichtiger Bestandteil der Philosophie sei und man dieses mit aller Konsequenz fortsetzen werde.
