The visitors’ tax rates, which every guest is obliged to pay on site, are determined in the Tourism Law for the Canton of Valais and in the tax regulations of the municipalities. Local tax revenue is to be used in the interests of those subject to it and is especially intended for the financing of information and reservation services and of local entertainment and the operation of those systems serving tourism, culture and sport.
The visitors’ tax regulations can be inspected on the homepage of the respective municipality. Visitors’ tax rates can vary depending on the nature of the operation.
Each visitor who is obliged to pay visitors’ taxes is entitled to a guest card which must be given to him/her by their host
Visitor's tax summer: 01.06. - 31.10.
Visitor's tax winter: 01.11. - 31.05.
