At the start of the summer season, Montela Apartments reaches the next milestone: Montela Apartments becomes Montela Hotel & Resort ****, the first 4* hotel in Saas-Grund. In addition to the existing apartments, 16 "Apart" suites will complete the accommodation offer.
Aircraft naming - 20 years SWISS
To mark its 20th anniversary, SWISS has come up with something very special: 20 Airbus A220 aircraft are to be given a name. Saas-Fee is among the lucky winners.
SaasFeestival 2023
From 08 July to 11 August 2023, the Saas Valley will be transformed into a large open-air stage for the second time. Nine concerts with a local character and national appeal will enliven the alpine summer evenings.

New Hannig cableway 2023
In view of the importance of the project for the further development of the Paas-Fee/Saastal region and the commitment of the patrons, the Board of Directors of Saastal Bergbahnen AG, under the leadership of the majority shareholder, has decided to realize the new Hannigbahn together with the amount raised through the crowdfunding campaign and to raise the missing outside capital.
Extension Hotel The Capra
The Capra is currently improving the facilities and building a third and final chalet on the property. The rooms and suites will be expanded, as well as a newly improved wellness offer. In addition, the existing restaurant and lounge bar will be enlarged. Some minor improvements to the existing rooms are also planned to ensure that all guests receive the best possible service.
Expansion of the biking offer at Kreuzboden
The biking continues. The Bergbahnen Hohsaas present an extended bike offer with the new flow trail between Kreuzboden and Trift and on to Saas-Grund. So you can enjoy a bike route from Hohsaas 3,200 m above sea level to Saas-Grund, overcoming 1,600 metres in altitude. Here you can find the press release.
50% discount on parking at the train station
Park the car at one of around 600 P+Rail stations and travel quickly and relaxed by car and train to Saas-Fee. Simply pay for the parking process without cash using the P+Rail app. As a thank you, SBB will give away half the parking fee.
An electric cargo bike for Saas-Fee
The carvelo2go sharing service of the TCS Mobility Academy AG is now available in the municipality of Saas-Fee. The electric cargo bike was financed by Raiffeisenbank Mischabel-Matterhorn.

From 16 July to 12 August, the Saas Valley is transformed into a large open-air stage. Five concert moments promise unforgettable experiences. An exuberant atmosphere, a varied music programme and breathtaking backdrops: The Saas Valley will be enriched by a unique event with local character and national charisma. Baschi, Anna Rossinelli Trio, Baba Shrimps and the other acts promise carefree hours of live music amidst the 4000-metre mountains of the Saas Valley.

The 5-star Walliserhof Grand-Hotel & Spa in Saas-Fee can be pleased about the ibex fairstay recertification in silver. The team made a big leap during the certification process.

Saastal Bergbahnen AG have submitted an application to ProKilowatt for subsidies for the shaft heating project for the snowmaking system.
Treasure hunt Wallis

In collaboration with Valais/Wallis Promotion and SPICK, a new treasure hunt for families has been created from Furggstalden to Saas-Almagell. Along the way, many interesting facts and information about the forest habitat await the young and old treasure hunters.
New staging of the terrace Mittelallalin
Summer 2022
The station at 3,500 m above sea level is being developed this year as a leisure, adventure and sightseeing venue. Thanks to the partner Cupra, the large terrace at the foot of the Allalin (4'027m) will be set in scene with bobbycars. The youngest visitors can let off steam on the bouncy castle and the slackline and experience the preparation of the slopes from the perspective of our employees in the snow groomer with VR glasses. Existing highlights include the highest revolving restaurant, the highest underground railway in the world and the large ice grotto.
Playground Kreuzboden 2022
Summer 2022
A new, modern playground for children of different age groups is planned for the summer of 2022. It will be built from natural materials and is characterised by its size and spectacular installations such as towers, climbing elements, water games and much more. Of course, everything with the breathtaking view of the four-thousand-metre peaks of Saas.
Bike trail Kreuzboden - Trift
Spring 2022
In spring 2022, the approximately five-kilometre-long Flow Trail will be built between Kreuzboden and Trift. This will complement the Bike Skills Park, which was built in summer 2021, from summer 2022. This trail is a sub-project for positioning the Saas-Grund - Kreuzboden - Hohsaas mountain route as an ideal place for mountain biking.

Best Tourism Villages by UNWTO
Saas-Fee, 3 September 2021 - Switzerland has selected three destinations to represent it in the nomination for the "Best Tourism Villages" of the World Tourism Organization. Saas-Fee, Valposchiavo and Gruyères will represent Switzerland in autumn 2021 at the 24th session of the UNWTO General Assembly in Marrakech, Morocco.
