From the 1st overnight stay onwards, with the SaastalCard you can use the cable cars in the Saas Valley free of charge (except Metro Alpin). All PostBus rides in the Saas Valley are also included (not valid for arrival and departure by PostBus). You also benefit from reductions of between up to 30 percent on a total of 36 offers.

Dogs are not included and pay a quarter of the adult rate from a height of 30 cm.
The SaastalCard entitles you to purchase the Metro Plus ticket (Felskinn - Mittelallalin pedestrian ticket). You can use the Metro Alpin without restrictions during your stay for a one-time fee of CHF 45 (children 6-16 years, CHF 38.-). The Metro Plus ticket includes admission to the ice pavilion. (Due to cantonal regulations, the ice pavilion will remain closed until further notice.)
Where can I get a SaastalCard?
You get the SaastalCard directly from our partner companies.
What does the SaastalCard cost?
You will receive your SaastalCard upon payment of the visitors' tax in our partner companies. This is charged directly by your host. The host may levy an additional fee of max. CHF 3.80, but this must be disclosed in the rental agreement.
Is the Magic Pass valid in the Saas Valley in summer 2020?
The Magic Pass will be valid from 6 June 2020 for the Saastal cable cars (in Saas-Fee and in Saas-Almagell), but not for the Hohsaas mountain railways (in Saas-Grund). The use of the Metro Alpin and the summer ski area are not included in the Magic Pass.
When can I start skiing in Saas-Fee with the Magic Pass?
The Magic Pass is valid in the winter season 20/21 in Saas-Fee from 31 October 2020 until 18 April 2021. The Magic Pass cannot be used for summer skiing from 11 July 2020.
Will the SaastalCard continue to exist?
Yes, the SaastalCard will continue to be available. Guests staying overnight at one of our partner establishments will continue to enjoy numerous inclusive services with the SaastalCard. These include, for example, unlimited use of the 9 mountain railways in the Saas Valley, with the exception of the Metro Alpin. All PostBus journeys in the Saas Valley are also included (not valid for arrival and departure by PostBus) and reductions up to 30 percent on a total of 36 local and regional offers.
Do Magic Pass customers now pay twice for using the mountain railways in summer?
No. The Magic Pass and the SaastalCard are two different products with different benefits.
- The Magic Pass includes:
- free use of the mountain railways in over 30 destinations in winter.
- free use of the mountain railways in over 16 destinations in summer.
- The SaastalCard includes:
- free use of 9 mountain railways in the Saas Valley (including Saas-Grund, which is not part of the Magic Pass network).
- free use of the PostBus within the four communities in the Saas Valley.
- reductions up to 30 percent on 36 local and regional offers.
- payment of the included tourist tax (Financing of the tourist infrastructure, guest information and entertainment).
There is a partial overlap of benefits. For guests who are affected by this, the Saastal cable cars offer a reduction on the Metro Alpin Plus ticket of CHF 5 for adults and CHF 3 for children. For this reduction both tickets must be presented at the ticket office.
Important: When you buy a Metro Plus ticket (pedestrian ticket Felskinn - Mittelallalin) you pay a one-off fee of CHF 45 (children CHF 38) with the SaastalCard, or CHF 40 (children CHF 35) with the SaastalCard and the Magic Pass, and can then travel to the Mittelallalin as often as you like throughout your stay and visit the ice pavilion free of charge. Summer skiing is not included in this price. The Metro Plus Ticket can only be purchased with a valid SaastalCard or Magic Pass.
