50 years old Music + 50 Year traditional costume association gives 100% a Party
The traditional costume assocation and the old Music from Saas-Grund celebrate their 50th anniversary.
Program:
- 3 p.m.: Holy mass in the parish church
- Approx. 4 p.m.: Marching into the school square
- Followed: By concert performances by the invited associations
- Various food stands, bars and entertainment on the festival grounds

Experience how the Alpine herdsmen return to their villlage after a summer up on the Alp. The cows are beautifully decorated.
Program:
- 10 a.m.: Alpine procession from "Hoferälpji"
- Approx. 12 p.m.: Arrival of the procession in Saas-Balen.
- Afterwards: Big cheese sale and festive food and drinks in Saas-Balen
- 12 - 6 p.m.: Musical entertainment
In September 2022 the fourth Mattmark semi marathon takes place. The start is next to the round chirch in Saas-Balen and leads among larch trees to Saas-Grund and Saas-Almagell towards the the hamlet "Zermeiggern". On the historical path you'll get to the dam Mattmark where the most beautiful part awaits you: the last 7 km around the beautiful lake Mattmark.
For those who prefer to take it a little easer it is also possible to only do the lake tour around lake Mattmark or participate at the Nordic Walking / Fun categorie.The kids race will be along the dam.
