With the Glacier Bike Downhill, pure adrenalin flows, because the downhill mountain bikers do not ride over stick and stone as usual, but over glacier and snow. On this unfamiliar terrain, 1700 meters of altitude difference have to be overcome. Top speeds of up to 140 km/h are reached. A challenge where not only the less experienced bikers will work up a sweat.
The OC will closely monitor the course of the situation regarding Covid-19 in the coming weeks and months and will decide and inform in time about the implementation. In case of an implementation, the OC will present and implement an appropriate protection concept.
Afterwards they ride down to the glacier village at 1,800 m. And it's not just their rivals the competitors have to worry about as they have to take on a steep track covered in snow and ice. A big challenge for even the most experienced mountain bikers! After the race is over and the competitors have been rewarded with reenergising snacks and drinks, a prize-giving ceremony is held at the finish line.
