Insurance cover for ski tickets, season & annual passes
Europ Assistance (Schweiz) Versicherungen AG is the new insurance partner of Bergbahnen Hohsaas AG for the sale of all ski tickets for the Kreuzboden - Hohsaas ski area, including season and annual passes. When purchasing a ticket, the "Hohsaas ski pass insurance" is automatically included in the ticket price. Additional "SnowAssist Light" insurance can be added for emergency transport.
- All ski tickets of the Hohsaas cable car company are insured
- Season & annual passes are insured
- Insurance is taken out automatically when you purchase one of the above-mentioned tickets and is included in the ticket price
The insurer shall provide insurance cover if the insured person is unable to use his/her passport due to one of the following events:
- Accident, illness or death of the insured person
- Accident, illness or death of a relative (life partner, children, parents, siblings, grandparents, grandchildren, parents-in-law and children of the insured person's life partner)
- In the event of a storm, heavy snowfall or avalanche risk, the following reimbursements apply:
- 100 % refund: if the entire Kreuzboden-Hohsaas area is not in operation
- 50 % refund: if the Kreuzboden - Hohsaas axis is closed before 1 pm
- No refund if thelifts are open until 1 pm
- Official partial operation at the beginning and end of the season, notified in advance by the policyholder (Bergbahnen Hohsaas AG), is not considered an insured event.
- Events that had already occurred at the time the insurance was taken out or the pass was purchased or whose occurrence was obvious to the insured person.
- Pre-existing illnesses, pregnancies or injuries that were already diagnosed or treated before the ski pass was purchased and harbour the risk of a sudden deterioration.
- Pandemics, epidemics or quarantine measures in the country of residence or abroad.
- Events arising from participation in official competitions organised by a sports federation and training for these competitions, if carried out professionally or under a paid contract, and liability in connection with these activities.
- Participation in competitive races, even as an amateur.
Further exclusions are regulated in the AVB (General Terms and Conditions of Contract).
In order to claim benefits, the insured person must submit the following documents to Europ Assistance (Switzerland):
- Ski pass, cancellation receipt, or confirmation of ski pass purchase
- Completed claim form
- Medical certificate (in case of accident or illness)
- Bank account details
SnowAssist Light insurance can cover the costs of search & rescue, repatriation for health reasons & emergency medical costs.
Price: CHF 4.00 per day
Not possible for annual and season passes
Only the person named in the insurance policy is insured.
SnowAssist Light is a subsidiary and supplementary insurance to any other insurance guarantee in favour of the beneficiary and is therefore limited to damages not covered by these guarantees.
SnowAssist covers the costs arising from an accident in the ski area.
SnowAssist Light is purchased at the ski station counter together with the ski pass or via our website in conjunction with a ski pass (https://shop.e-guma.ch/bergbahnen-hohsaas/de/tickets).

The insured persons who may benefit from Europ Assistance's insurance services are the policyholders who are in possession of a ski pass bearing the endorsement of the insurance product taken out with the Contracting Centre or any other document or evidence proving that the insurance has been taken out.who is insured?
There are two possibilities:
- If you take out the policy directly at a counter, the receipt labelled with the insurance product will serve as proof of payment of the insurance premium and thus of your insurance cover.
- If you take out your insurance on our website (https://shop.e-guma.ch/bergbahnen-hohsaas/de/tickets), the purchase receipt that you receive by e-mail will serve as proof.
The start and end dates of the insurance correspond to the duration of the insured ski pass and are indicated either directly on your ski pass (if purchased at a ticket counter) or on your purchase receipt (if purchased via the website).
The insurance is valid for the entire open ski area of the resort that issued the ski pass and, in the event of an accident, only if the resort's rescue service has attended the scene of the accident.
No. The insurance applies to skiing and similar sliding sports such as snowboarding, skibob and all other activities associated with the use of mountain railways. Hiking is treated in the same way as skiing.

- First report the claim to the existing insurance companies and then send Europ Assistance the final statement from your insurance company in order to claim any insurance benefits not covered by your insurance.
- Provide EUROP ASSISTANCE with all original receipts for the expenses for which reimbursement is requested on the website https://ski-ch.eclaims.europ-assistance.com/home. What to do in the event of an accident?
- Events that have already occurred at the time of purchase of the ski pass or whose occurrence was obvious to the beneficiary at the time of purchase of the ski pass.
- Events in connection with participation in dangerous activities, the risks of which are known.
- Events in connection with pandemics and epidemics, improper and dangerous skiing and/or skiing under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- Off-piste skiing (subject to the areas authorised by the ski area for ‘off-piste skiing’), participation in races of a competitive nature, even as an amateur.
