Ski pass insurance

• Events that have already occurred at the time of taking out the insurance or purchasing the pass, or whose occurrence was obvious to the insured person.
• Pre-existing illnesses, pregnancies or injuries that were already diagnosed or treated before the ski pass was purchased and which carry the risk of sudden deterioration.
• Pandemics, epidemics or quarantine measures in the country of residence or abroad.
• Events resulting from participation in official competitions organised by a sports association, as well as training for these competitions, if carried out professionally or under a paid contract, and liability in connection with these activities.
• Participation in competitive races, even as an amateur.

In order to claim benefits, the insured person must submit the following documents to Europ Assistance (Switzerland):

• Ski pass, proof of cancellation number or confirmation of ski pass purchase
• Completed claim form
• Medical certificate (in the event of an accident or illness)
• Bank details

The ski pass is insured if it cannot be used due to the following events:

• Extreme weather conditions such as storms, avalanche danger or heavy snowfall, if this results in five or fewer lifts being open in the ski area (according to official information from the mountain railway operators).

The ski pass is insured if it cannot be used due to the following events:

• In the event of storms, heavy snowfall or avalanche danger, the following refunds apply:

  • 100% refund: if the entire Kreuzboden-Hohsaas area is closed

  • 50% refund: if the Kreuzboden – Hohsaas route is closed before 1 p.m.

  • No refund if the facilities are open until 1 p.m.

• The official partial operation at the beginning and end of the season, which is communicated in advance by the policyholder (Bergbahnen Hohsaas AG), is not considered an insured event.
