The 27th UIAA Ice Climbing World Cup once again brings the world’s best ice climbers to Saas-Fee. In the spectacular 32-metre-high Ice Dome, more than 100 top athletes from around 20 countries compete for victory.
Visitors can also look forward to a varied programme of events, including two big parties, culinary highlights and an unbeatable winter atmosphere. With around 2,500 spectators, the Ice Climbing World Cup is one of the largest winter events in the Valais.

What was once reserved for professional athletes competing in the Ice Climbing World Cup is now open to all interested climbers. The Saas-Fee car park features climbing routes of varying difficulty, with the climbing hall available for ice climbing during the winter months.
In 2022, the Kletterdome was recognised by the Swiss Federal Office of Sport (FOSPO) as a National Performance Centre (NLZ) for ice climbing.

The Saas-Fee Ice Climbing Association
Over the past 25 years, ice climbing has become an established part of life in the Saas Valley, both as a sport and as an event.
The association, which has around 140 members, aims to share its passion for ice climbing and, in cooperation with various partners, create a platform for locals, schoolchildren, visitors and businesses. This platform provides opportunities to showcase the different disciplines of ice climbing and to experience them firsthand.
Part of the proceeds goes towards cultural projects supported by the Swiss Alpine Club (SAC), in collaboration with the Saas-Fee Ice Climbing Association.
