Saas-Fee - Saas-Almagell - Saas-Grund - Saas-Balen
Walk for 40 minutes along the woodland path from Saas-Fee to Saas-Almagell. From Saas-Almagell the path runs along the Vispa to Saas-Grund (1 hour) or to Saas-Balen (105 minutes.). You and your family can then take the Postauto bus back to your starting point.
Saas-Fee - Hannig - Melchboden - Bärenfalle (Fairytale Trail)
Start at the church in Saas-Fee and make the short climb up to Schäferstube restaurant. The path then continues above the village to Hohnegg. From there, it's not far to the idyllic forest clearing at Melchboden, where there is an ideal rest-stop with a picnic and barbecue area next to a small lake. Carry on along the Fairytale Trail and you might even bump into a Gotwergeni - or dwarf! After that it's just a few minutes to Bärenfalle. From there the trail takes you to the Wildi area and back to Saas-Fee.
Start at the church in Saas-Fee and climb up to Schäferstube restaurant. Then take the path to the left, where you'll soon come across barbecue areas, a small children's train made of wood and water games. To head back to the village, you can either head back along the same path or take the wilder, more open path via Felskinn.
Hinter den Zäunen
Start at Kalbermatten sports ground and walk towards the Felskinn cableway station. The path forks before the valley station, with one side leading to the Wolfsgrube and the other leading to the area known as Hinter den Zäunen - or "behind the fences". The Wolfsgrube is the perfect place for family barbecues, picnics and games. The paved road through the Hinter den Zäunen area leads back to the village. Along the way there are several rest stops close to the babbling mountain brook.
Woodland walk from Saas-Fee to Saas-Almagell
This beautiful wide woodland path leads from Saas-Fee (1,800 m) to Saas-Almagell (1,672 m). Bodmen restaurant at the halfway point is an ideal place for a rest stop. There is a small barn where chickens, rabbits and guinea pigs frolic. Another barn is home to alpacas and pigs. The animals love having visitors!

Snowtubing The latest in winter fun.
You might know skiing, snowboarding, and maybe even Telemark skiing. But do you know snowtubing? A special ski-lift takes you up the tubing track, where your smooth downhill glide on a huge rubber ring begins. Pure snowy enjoyment for young and old is waiting for you at Saas-Almagell, right at the border of the Free Republic of Holidays, Saas-Fee.

With the right safety gear (included in the entry price), there's a whole forest of climbing fun to be had in the rope park of Saas-Fee. Even our smaller visitors can have a go on the discovery obstacle course, swinging from tree to tree. This ever-popular large obstacle course has been extended and now guarantees two hours of thrills and spills. The highlight: Europe's longest Tyrolean zip-line across the Fee gorge – 280m there, 210m back. Just don't lose your cool!

This is one fairytale that your kids won't forget in a hurry. In the middle of an enchanting larch wood, experience the sights and sounds of the story of little Pia, who one day wanders into the land of the dwarves and learns all the tales of the Saas valley. The trail lasts around one hour.
Scooter Fun You'll be happily exhausted after a go on our scooter tracks.
With not one, not two, but three scooter tracks, the Free Republic of Holidays, Saas-Fee guarantees super speedy descents and unbridled action. A 3.5km-long paved road, wide and easy to ride on, runs from Furggstalden down to Saas-Almagell. From Hannig, you can hop on your scooter for 5.5km on a natural track, whizzing through the glorious scenery to Saas-Fee. Finally, the ultimate downhill kick awaits on the 11km track from Kreuzboden to Saas-Grund on dirt scooters!

The 3.5 km long scooter trail from Furggstalden mountain station to Saas-Almagell is particularly suitable for beginners and families as the wide tarmaced road is easy to ride on.

Marmots These Saas valley residents will be eating out of the palm of your hand!
While you are enjoying the beautiful winter terrain of the Spielboden ski resort (2450 metres above sea level), these cute little characters are fast asleep in their burrows. In spring however, our marmots liven up, and love to be fed with carrots and nuts. It's an unforgettable experience!
Petting zoo The Free Republic of Holidays, Saas-Fee: the cutest place on earth.
It's not just people who feel at ease in the Free Republic of Holidays, Saas-Fee: the Saas Valley is a paradise for animals too. Young animal lovers can befriend mountain chamois, hand-feed tame marmots and pet the pot-bellied pigs and pygmy goats.
Kian’s journey of discovery Come along on an exciting journey and find Kian.
Kian, the dragon from Mittaghorn, is one of the last three remaining dragons in Saas-Almagell. He spends his winters in Kian’s Adventure World in Furggstalden but as he is an adventurous and curious creature, this year he decided to spend his summer roaming the valley, discovering all there is to see and do.
Now young adventurers can take Kian’s hiking map, strap on their walking boots and rucksack, and go in search of him. There are ten places in Saas-Almagell – in picturesque hamlets and rugged valleys – where you’ll find Kian waiting to regale you with his stories.
Each time you come across him, you’ll also find a number. Note all the numbers down on your map (available from the tourist office) and add them up. If you get the right answer, you can look forward to a special reward at the tourist office.
