| Glacier educational trail
50% of the community area of Saas-Fee is ice covered, which is why the community also bears the name of "glacier village". We hope the new glacier educational trail will encourage you to be more aware of the landscape and how it is shaped by the glacier. There are 11 stations along the trail that explain how a glacier shapes the environment, and what the associations between the climate and a glacier are. Embark on a journey through time and find out more about the history of the glacier. Over the course of 1.5 hours, the trail will take you past the moraine and the glacier lake on the northern Fee glacier to the Gletschergrotte restaurant- enjoy the spectacular views of the surrounding mountain and glacier world.
Carl-Zuckmayer hiking trail, Saas-Fee
This hiking trail was established in 1996 in honour of the author Dr. Carl Zuckmayer.
5 serpentine rocks contain quotations by Zuckmayer from his speech at his naturalisation ceremony. You walk up from Haus Vogelweid, his former place of residence, to Bärenfalle, and then on to Melchboden and the Café Alpenblick. Finally, you follow the path through the forest past Hohnegg and down to Saas-Fee.
Walking time: 2 ½ hrs.
The Saas-Fee Trail
You take the Hannig gondola-lift up to 2350 m above sea-level. From here you turn left in the direction of Schönegg and then continue in the direction of the Torrenbach stream, always keeping route 10 in your sights. The boards at the edge of the path contain information about the local inhabitants' way of life, about energy, vegetation, the Fee glacier and a great deal more. After you have passed the glacier lake, you can hike back to Saas-Fee over the moraine.
Walking time: 2 ½ hrs.
The chapel trail, Saas-Fee - Saas-Grund
The Chapel Trail begins with the chapel «Zur Hohen Stiege» lying directly at the edge of the path from Saas-Fee to Saas-Grund. Walking down the trail to Saas-Grund you will pass 15 chapels spaced out along the trail. Each of these little chapels contains wooden figures depicting the 15 mysteries of the rosary.

Wellness and fun trail, Kreuzboden - Saas-Grund
Along the wellness and fun trail on the Kreuzboden you will experience fresh mountain water, fresh air and lots of unspoilt nature. You will get plenty of exercise along the 1,2 km path ? and your mind and spirit will benefit too. There are places to rest with hammocks, picnic areas with barbecues, a hut for shelter and much more.

| Themed trail 18 Four-Thousand-Metre-Peaks, Hohsaas The 1,4 km long trail begins at the Hohsaas arrival station. The Saas Valley is surrounded by 18 four thousand-metre peaks. Each mountain has its history. Apart from the contours which look as if they had been sculptured, and photos of individual peaks and the chain of mountains, path-side boards give written descriptions concerning the history, such as a first ascent.
Time: 50 - 60 min.
Apline flower walk, Saas-Grund Thousand-year-old larches and more than 240 different species of plants linethe trail, amongst them flowers found only in the Saas Valley. For more information see the information leaflet. Guide possible on request. Time: 3 - 4 hrs.
Path of tranquillity, Saas-Grund Meditative stations invite you to engage in quiet contemplation. On this themed trail you will enter into harmony with nature and active relaxation. Time: 1 hr.
The swiss trail, Saas-Grund The Swiss Trail is special because of its unique view of the Saas mountains as well as its numerous plants and insects. It was formerly used by farmers to fetch irrigation water in the Triftalp for the meadows above Saas-Grund.
Time: 2 ½ hrs.
Suonen hike, Saas-Almagell A hike along the «Suonen» of Saas-Almagell, through the hamlets of Zum Moos – Unter den Bodmen to Saas-Grund. «Suonen» are irrigation channels. They bring water via channels and pipelines to the fields and gardens. Lack of water made people inventive. An easy trail to lift up the soul.
Time: 2 hrs.
Forest educational trail, Furggstalden - Saas-Almagell The chair-lift takes you from Saas-Almagell to Furggstalden. The educational trail first takes you through the old hamlet of Furggstalden and then along the path through the forest down to Saas-Almagell. The information boards on the edge of the path explain the functions of the forest.
