The Plattjen gondola-lift takes you to the top station in 6.6 minutes. The area below the Mittaghorn is a favourite destination for hikers in summer, and in winter snow sports enthusiasts have fun on the pistes.

The first Plattjen lift was built in 1963. This nostalgic lift was replaced in 1999 with an ultra-modern 6-person gondola-lift.
The new 6-person gondola-lift from Saas-Fee to Plattjen in combination with the snow-making facilities has meant a clear improvement for the entire Plattjen area.
Using the latest technical advances, the new lift replaced the former 2-person gondola-lift and the 2-person chair-lift.
In the first phase, 49 6-person gondolas carried 1200 people per hour; later the transportation capacity was increased to 1600 people per hour. |
